How to Fix: Green/Purple Video Corruption in Google Chrome?

1. Open Google Chrome and go to a dark webpage. You can use this one.
2. Press F12 to open Developer Tools.
3. Now you can see various options. You need to click on the ‘Console’ label, and this will open the Console window.
4. Go to web page you are willing to test. You can use this one. If there is no problem, the console should show you a message “Video is playing”.
5. If there is no message, then check your PC/Laptop hardware acceleration settings. To do this, open your Google Chrome browser and type chrome://settings in the address bar.
6. Scroll down to Advanced settings. Now click on ‘Content settings’.
7. At the bottom, you will see ‘Use hardware acceleration when available’. Make sure it is switched off and click on ‘Done’. Now try to play any video and see if the message appeared in the console.
