A DS_Store file (DS Store) is a hidden file that stores Finder information to keep track of your Mac OS X computer. It is placed in every folder that contains items (files, folders etc.) which should be displayed in Finder. If you delete the DS_Store file from a folder, Finder will not be able to remember information about that folder.
There are a few ways to do this, but we’ll outline the most common methods.
One way is to use the built-in file viewer in Windows 10.
- To do this, right-click on the ds_store file and select Open With > File Viewer.
- This should allow you to view the file contents.
- However, this is not always guaranteed.
Another way is to use a third-party app such as 7-Zip to open the file.
- To do this, simply download and install 7-Zip, then right-click on the ds_store file and select Open With > 7-Zip.
- This will open the file in the 7-Zip app, where you should be able to view the contents.
